Intro to Lighting Design

The first project of the semester involved programming lights to music on the ETC Ion. I chose to do the fist section of "Mars" from Holst's "The Planets." To me, this piece primarily involved the idea of constant movement (through the repeated rhythmic figure) that I attempted to mimic with the lights. I also chose the color pallet primarily from the color we associate with mars (Red), but also the color of the martian sunset and sunrise (blue/purple). The cues were programmed on the Ion and triggered through Qlab using OSC "fire cue ___" commands.
