Basic Audio Amplifier with HPF/LPF
After researching and learning about op-amps and filters, I decided to make a basic audio amplifier. I first made a few models using a computer simulation to learn how the different components would interact. After doing a few drafts, I came up with a basic design. I then constructed it on a breadboard to find that the distortion and random noise was louder than the actual signal. Turns out ideal components don't really exist in real life! So, through trial and error, I tried placing filters at different points along the signal path and experimented with capacitor-resister combinations. Eventually, I found a combination that allowed me to amplify the signal from a cell-phone audio jack without a huge amount of extraneous noise.
